ATOS II SOThe SO ("small objects") family of the ATOS 3D digitizer is the right choice for highly accurate measurements of small objects. Based on the industry proven ATOS III, ATOS II or ATOS systems, the desktop setup is used for measuring complex parts with high requirements on point density, accuracy and data quality.

For the ATOS SO systems, the cameras are positioned in front of the projection unit, leading to an optimized measuring volume for small objects. The systems are mounted on a working plate, which is also used as base for the adjustable holder of the small objects to be measured. For ease of use we recommend the motorized vertical table and the SO rotation table.

Using the SO setup, measuring volumes down to 45x36x20 mm³ are realized. With point spacings of less than 0.03 mm even smallest details can be measured.

Applications

  • Quality Control of small parts, e.g. housing of electronic components
  • Reverse Engineering of detailed objects, e.g. for toy industry

Add-ons

Reference Frame

Reference Frame

A reference frame supports the accurate and easy digitizing of small parts using the SO setup.
Small objects can be digitized from both sides without the need to have markers on the object as predefined markers are placed on the frame. This frame integrates therefore all measurements into a predefined coordinate system, making digitizing of small parts easy and very accurate.

Rotation Table

Rotation Table

Motorized rotation tables are available as accessory to the ATOS systems. The small and flexible set up is recommended in combination with the SO setup, to digitize small parts in an efficient semi-automated process.
The combination of the reference frame and the motorized rotation table is a very powerfull enhancement to digitize small parts from both sides efficiently and with high accuracy.

Vertical, motorized table

Vertical, motorized table

A vertical motorized table is recommended to hold the sensor head. Thus, the system can easily be moved to cope with flat and tall objects. Semi-automated digitizing is easily supported in combination with the motorized rotation table.
